| Back once again w'the... | Yes well it's me again, having got the shock absorbers working properly I went for a high-speed test run - and things are not good, my Uno 60 is definitely down on power... It would be interesting to hear from Brymak what the top speed should be... on a very long straight road I got up to 138km/h. I'm sure that my old Uno 60 used to get to very near 160... Right, so the carburettor mixture is set (very carefully) so that the engine idles like a dream. The valve clearances are correct, the ignition timing is correct, and the air filter is new, as are the spark plugs. So... where is the power going? I shall re-check the cam timing shortly - any other ideas? Ah Dunc, I know what you're going to say... that it's missing the turbo ![]() Thanks, Alex

| Re: Uno 60 down on power Sticking rear brake? Worn wheel bearing? Worn gearbox? Low engine compression?

| Now hacking in PHP | Re: Uno 60 down on power You're missing NOS! .I would check timing and compression (again). | ||

| Back once again w'the... | Re: Uno 60 down on power I haven't checked compression yet, but I think I've found the problem. You're not going to believe this... it's the 'luxury' sound deadening that I added plus the large $40 floormats and the standard carpet... all of this results in less than full throttle being available! I removed the floormat and really stomped on it (the pedal) - performance is rather more acceptable now! I've now removed the accelerator pedal, swapped the two bushes (one was cracked, not helping matters), bent the pedal fork that connects with the cable (it was digging into the standard sound-deadening, recommend you check this!), and finally bent the pedal rod itself. I overdid it a bit (naturally) meaning the pedal is now several cm higher than the brake pedal - tried to bend it back, couldn't, oh well! So how about that for a technical fix? ![]() -Alex
