Am just putting my turbo back in my mk1 and cant seem to find a gasket that i thought should go in between the two flanges in the photos am now wondering if there is even one that goes in here. If any one knows if there is suposed to be one and if so what sort it is that would be great. thanks

You're welcome. I see you have a gasket between the turbine housing and the cast elbow too. There is actually no gasket there from the factory or between the manifold and turbine housing either.

Oh ok i have gaskets in those other two places didnt think the casting would seal that well otherwise. Oh well the main thing is i havent lost one. cheers again

Out of the factory Fiat never used gaskets in these places. However the gaskets are available from Fiat if you wish to use them during a rebuild. The gaskets will take up minor distortions in the flanges if there are any. I prefer to resurface the flange if it is not flat to the naked eye. The flange does not need to be far out before it will blow the gasket anyway. If it matches up flat to the naked eye I don't bother with a gasket and they never leak. IMO they should ideally not have a gasket.
