Just an idea, take the top off the carburettor (10mm spanner and screwdriver required) and check that it has petrol in it when the engine stops.

Otherwise it is probably that nasty electronic module on the distributor. Perhaps you should try changing the coil. There aren't many other things it could be!

Re: uno 999cc fire engine stopps

Dear Fiat uno people. I just returned from my mechanic who i think he hasn't got a clu of whats wrong with my car. as i said on the previous post i have the problem that when the engine is warm it stalls. this hapens only when the engine is warm. When i took it to the mechanic he changed the distributor with a second hand one the original distibutor had a new vacuum. For one week the engine was running fine but whith a bit loss of power after a week the idle speed started to sound dogy and after few days it started having the same problem. i took it again to the mechanic and he changed the coil this time. the power came back but the car still stalls when its warm, maybe not that often but it does.
I dont know my mechanic is useless (but he is cheap) so i need your help

if its the uno 999cc FIRE engine.. its doesnt have fuel injection or engine management I cant say ive experienced your problems with mine but do have problems with the cold (icing occurs in the carb - even with teh heat tube added), plus i have a crap vacuum advance unit (the hose just has it blocked with a screw).

I think your best bet is to do what alex said earlier, check your carb is functioning fine under heat

Luke, if it is the 999cc i.e. fire engine then it does, it has Bosch-monotronic SPI (with a throttle body instead of a carb) and a nice ECU underneath the drivers dash.

ahhh, it doesnt mention anything about the i.e.

In that case my advice is scrap the engine to the standard 999cc FIRE, cos it dont have the problem

Re: uno 999cc fire engine stopps

Well if I say that the mechanic said that it might be the injection or the ecu so probably it has there is no need to mention it. Another theory that somebody told me is that it might be the lamda sensor, the ting is that when i press the accelerator a bit so i increase the idle speed the engine doesnt cut off. I an thinking to take it to a fiat dealer to just diagnost it but they will charge me to much
