Uno 45 Sting oil leak

My wifes shopping basket 1987 Uno 45 Sting drips a lot of oil. I have checked all the obvious spots to no avail. The only other place it could be coming from seems the dipstick hole. Is it possible the dipstick seal is jiggered, causing oil to blow out there when under pressure?
My Uno 60s is missing the Italian flag decal from the front guard, any ideas?
Cheers fellow Fiatonians.

Re: Uno 45 Sting oil leak

If the oil breather it clogged, pressure will find its way up the dipstick. It may be dangerous, if it soaks the hood and drips on the hot manifold, making it catch fire.

Check the oil breather.

Morten.

Re: Uno 45 Sting oil leak

Wrap some insulation tape around the dipstick seal to extend its life. I agree with Morten though, clean the breather before the leaks get any worse.

You have, presumably, 'discovered' the wonder of engine degreaser in $2 aerosol cans? Buy a couple of cans and give the engine a good scrub, hose off, and in a few days you should see the oil leaks worth fixing. I've found that things on the Uno 60 like the fuel pump can easily leak, or the cambox cover. But I have no knowledge of leak areas on the Uno 45 Sting...

Come to that, does anyone else on this forum have an Uno 45 Sting? That 'Sting' part might be NZ-only, what we mean is an Uno with the 903cc pushrod motor, still available in 1989 if I remember rightly.

As for the Italian flag decals, try Continental Car Services (Auckland/Wellington - Christchurch?) I've noticed those on other CCS FIATs of the period!
