Adhesive for rubstrips?

What glue would people recommend to stick on my rubstrips more?

I had to take them off a few months ago so i bought some new ones but the adhesive backing isnt really strong enough, the drivers door one is a bit flimsy.

Ive used evostik impact adhesive but thats rubbish (its meant to be extra strong too!)

Ive heard sikaflex is meant to be the best for it but cant find a stockist anywhere!

They were originally stuck with some black putty looking stuff....

any ideas people???

Re: Adhesive for rubstrips?

Paintshops sell a double-sided adhesive foam tape with green backing.

If you are able to hold the strips in the right position with ordinary tape, then you might like to try black silicone windscreen sealant (neutral cure), or perhaps the Tigerseal as suggested (there are the bunnies again!)

Re: Adhesive for rubstrips?

Id love to get them taken off but the problem is that they are all stuck on with this black putty stuff, so when you take the rubstrip off, its all left behind.

The only way to get rid is to have the panels resprayed and thatl cost too much.

Ill try and find some of this Tigerseal stuff.

Re: Adhesive for rubstrips?

Thing is, when i wanted to take the rubstrips off, i heated them up with a hairdryer, but with the rubstrips came with the tiger seal and a layer of paint!!!!

I couldnt slide anything under the glue and it just wouldnt budge, it was really brittle.

So im reluctant to try and take the other ones off!
