| Hi guys, its me again!!Sorry about all these questions but I am so excited about my UNO!! I just wanted to know how much can I drive or how much is left in the tank when the low level fuel light comes on!! Mine is the 45 FIRE model! You think I can get 6 miles since when it comes on?? Thanks in advance

| Re: Low level Fuel UPDATE: I have just done 14miles on the low level warning light. Not bad.I'm sure I can squeeze another 4-5 miles out of it!! I'm driving it carefully! At the momeny I am getting around 41 miles to the gallon. Note that all of my driving is in the city as we dont have any highways here in Malta.

| NobodyBlamesTheHappyGuy:D | Re: Low level Fuel You should never trust the fuel-level-light on the Uno. Trust your counter, and reset at every fuel filling. And yes, city driving consumes a lot - at least on my 1.1 ieS, sometimes the double of highway driving. Guess enthusiastic driving and maximum power from every stand-still has something to do with it... ![]() Morten.

| Back once again w'the... | Re: Low level Fuel OK, the fuel pickup is always in the same place near (but not at) the bottom of the fuel tank, so if you think about it, it is no more likely to pick up debris when the tank is nearly-empty than it would be when the tank was full. Debris does not float on top of the petrol... neither does water (the main contaminant problem). As for the low fuel warning light, it varies slightly between Unos but should allow for 5 litres. One memorable night (exactly four years ago because I remember the fireworks) I decided on a whim to go and see if I could remove the windscreen from an abandoned Citivan at the side of a main road. The trouble was, that spot was halfway to Auckland, so the trip was about 120km return. 20km up the road, the fuel low warning light stopped going out (on continuously), and I suddenly remembered that (being a student) I had 20 cents in my bank account (about 8p). So I drove very gently (80km/h max, slowing down going up hills and speeding up going down, in my 1986 Uno 60 1116cc). I managed just over 100km with the warning light on, and I could still drive to a petrol station a few days later. You say 41mpg, that's 6.88L/100km. So on your 5 litres you would expect 72km (45 miles)... but, no guarantees. :-) -Alex
