New to Uno Forum, so thought i'd say Hi and show ya my Mk1 Uno T.
I've owned it just over a year and have just spent a small fortune getting it to run as it should. This included: Cambelt, Alternator, Inlet manifold gasket, 2x brake calipers, discs and pads all round. And there's still more to do:bang: all worth it though!

very nice, I had a mark I years back, loved the car, very few left in as good condition as yours now.... (y)

yer i'm very happy with the condition. Not happy about the ride height though, i think the previous owner has used 60mm springs on standard shocks at the front which makes for a bumpy harsh ride. i have some spax 40mm springs to fit next week which should hopefully improve things a tad.

Just toying with the idea of increasing the boost to 1bar..

Cheers for that! Clock is reading 53k but not sure how genuine this is as i have limited history with the car.

Definitely wanna get to a few shows next year, especially Stanford as it's just down the road from me. Would've been nice to take it this year but unfortunately it was running like a bag of nails:mad:

Looks fantastic! (y)

Welcome to the forum

I love the original decals and the gleam of the red, not orange, paint. The black plastics look perfect too. What's your secret? :p

I'm guessing this is now your 'classic car' and you don't drive it as a runaround?

Are those wheels painted silver?

Cheers,

Cheers Alex. The condition is a tribute to the previous owners who have obviously taken good care of it. all the plastics are in tip top condition and its been completely undersealed which should hopefully keep the rust at bay.

The wheels were refurbed in 1998 (got the reciept) so well done for spotting (y) I have some standard wheels resprayed in anthracite that i may put on:chin:

My runabout is a cinq sporting so i'll be putting the Uno away for the winter.

Anyone know where i can get a speedo cable or whether fiat still do them?

Yes - if I'm honest, I was going to point out that they should be a polished, clearcoated finish :p... but silver paint is so much more practical and I didn't want to come out sounding negative!

I re-furbed two of my wheels - paint stripper got the clearcoat off, I sanded and polished, then re-clearcoated, but now that clearcoat has yellowed - I have semi-gold wheels :) With my X1/9 I found that just leaving the alloy bare, and polished, works well. So that's what I'll be doing for my Turbo - OK for a car that hardly gets driven. I have a set of 'road' 15" wheels as well, so the 13"s have my race tyres :yum:

Good move!

Any Uno speedo cable (RHD obviously) should fit - I haven't noticed a difference between the fitting on the various different Uno gearboxes. It's not a part that gives much trouble - either the end fitting is broken off, or it isn't - but can be difficult to change because the cable threads over the heater and may be trapped by the dashboard.
