1988E 60S 5dr. A few scabs here and there but mainly in good condition. 94k on the clock. I am keeping it standard but am on the lookout for a set of original wheel trims.

Sweet find!
No rust! :)
Bit of silicone spray on the dash and some black paint on the cam cover (and an engine bay clean-up) and it will be absolutely mint.

Running OK?

That has the five-speed box, doesn't it. How do you find the performance/what were you driving before?

Mk1 Uno FTW, as they say :)
Cheers,
-Alex

I was driving an e36 BMW 316i before the uno. To compare the beemer was at it's best on the motorway, but a bit of an elephant to drive when nipping in and out of traffic. The uno is quicker when town driving which is what i do alot of. But, i blew the engine up on the beemer so it ended up square shaped at the local scrap merchants. With the cash from that (£168) i bought the uno, which belonged to a mate of mine, he had it 7 years.

It's running perfect. It is 5 speed, but as my last fiat was a '94 punto 55S, i find the uno alot quicker, there's no catalyst plus a twin choke carb so that's probably why i found the punto to be a bit held back compared to the uno.

As for rust, this afternoon i noticed the drivers side front mudflap was loose so took it off, only to discover......

I do have access to the mrs's car if i want to go fast, she has a modded V6 mk2 mondeo :D

Nice find! (y)

5 door mk1's FTW! :p

It's amazing how clean the mk1 Uno's lines look after all this time. A clean one still looks so fresh and stylish, but I would say that as I have two :D

As to the wheel trims, I think they may have had painted steels with a plastic centre cap. Here's some pictures of what they look like below vvvv.

Good luck, look after it and keep the forum posted as to how it performs for you :)

Probably just as easy to get a new front wing. Looks tidy otherwise. Agree on the clean shape the Mk1 has.

Me and Jai are going there and you're just down the road from both of us. We normally go down the M1 to Staples Corner/ Brent Cross then pick of the North Circular (A406) anti-clockwise towards Wembley. The Ace Cafe is on the A406 at the Stonebridge Park industrial estate turn off. Dead easy to get to.

For you though, you're probably near the A40? Just hop on that and head into London, then come off at Hangar Lane. Pick up the A406 towards Harrow and you're literally about 1 mile away. Again, turn off at the Stonebridge Park industrial estate exit and you're there.

Costs nothing to get in, you don't have to buy anything from the cafe if you don't want to and I can guarantee it will be packed with Italian cars from humble Fiats to Italian supercar exotica. Get there early this time of year else you'll have to park in the road outside!

You'll get to meet loads of forumers and you get to meet other mk1 Uno nuts (y)

Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on!!!
