fuel comsumption

Can anyone tell me what the average fuel comsumption is on a Uno 1100 and a Uno Turbo.

Is there a huge difference in numbers? I know there are alot of factors to consider, but im trying to see if I should get a 1100 Uno or a Uno Turbo.

Thanks guys

Re: fuel comsumption

well, obvously the 1.1 is gonna be cheaper to run, by so many options, but it depends on your wallet, im guessin a UT will do around 30mpg if that where as the 1108cc will do about 45mpg, depends how heavy your foot is, but the UT isnt the most reliable car on the road, over heating issues turbo issues, and the engine is ancient technology now and parts don't come cheap, read the uno thread for a little more details.

Re: fuel comsumption

When I drive carefully in my 1108cc 93 fire I get around 14.5/15k's a litre.

Re: fuel comsumption

ancient?! we're not talking chariot of the pharoahs here!!!! the engine block may be based on a 50 year old design, but its farsightedness, made it strong and very desireable for the purpose of tuning and turbocharging, placing in a small, light, modern for the time and still pretty body. even today, a half knackered, interstellar mileage example like mine will hold it's own against todays warm hatches, and certainly in fiats current lineup, there's nothing that will embarrass it. coupled with a total lack of any driver aid/hold ups like abs/abd/traction control etc, it does what you say, when you say, if you stack it, or perfectly nail a corner, it's down to you, not the preprogammed, fuzzy logic box of tricks that decides.

parts? yes some are overpriced, but those are generally from people on ebay looking to hike up value for no reason other than to line their own pockets, with a little research, items like discs and pads, suspension, engine ancillaries are very reasonable. although i've have many issues with unos, and tubs in particular, it's very very rarely been down to the actually engine itself. from the humble sub one litre, up to the 1301 N/A and turbo, the internals are solid and respond well to being thrashed up and down the range.

Re: fuel comsumption

very well said JAi!!!

as far as 80's hot hatchs went it was probably the LEAST problematic!! thanks to its simplistic design!

fuel consumption, erm 30 on the combined, (combined thrashing and motorway) got mine to OVER 45 on a 200mile trip, twas on the motorway going a fair pace faster than I do in my 1.2na punto (which would have only done 35mpg at those speeds).
and around 30-35mark for normal day to day driving (not boosting it much)

Re: fuel comsumption

Ok thanks for the replies guys. So on average how many miles or kilometers would you get out of a tank of fuel in a Uno Turbo?

In my mom's 1100 Mia she get between 450 - 500 Km's (280 - 310 miles) per tank of fuel. Normally fill up to about 35-40 liters (9-10 gallons)

Re: fuel comsumption

My 1 litre averages 36mpg on the motorway and 40-43mpg just driving around town. On most cars its the other way round, but I tend to drive between 80 and 90mph on the motorway so it really drinks it.

I'd say it's the Uno 45 (or 1.0ie) with 999cc Engine
