mk2 uno turbo - think im going mad

Hi all,

Well its month 2 of "restoration" on the mk2, think my spending is going a bit out of control..

Floorpan is now solid (water had leaked from sunroof for years and had rotted the thing badly).. sills are still crap, sunroof still needs sorting but cant find one anywhere!!, doorsteps been welded, need a door, got two new wings on it, and im about to buy a couple of rear arch repair panels from Poland..

Does anyone spend this much time, effort, money etc anymore or is it just me? i dont want to giveup as im climbing steadily up the hill - i'd say including a spray job only another £400 or so is needed, but does anyone just think im mad?? i have to wonder why im bothering sometimes..

I hate to be defeated, but i know people have scrapped cars for WAY less work than this..

p.s anyone got any of the parts mentioned above? pm me

Try Beevers Auto Panels, they have wheel arch repair sections for £12 each or full quarters for £38.70.

Re: mk2 uno turbo - think im going mad

Cheers, was just one of those low days you know?
I will email ^ about sunroof..

getting from poland - well spotted on eBay and got all excited, all in 2 repair panels and postage is about £35 - i thought was a good deal but..

@Ant - i think i may well need near enough all of the repair panel - someone had got a bit excited with a tub of filler before i had it - just took plastic arches off and found a nice amount of rust. - i say nice as its not gone as high as the fuel filler...
