Fastest shed at Brooklands!

For those that didn't got to Brooklands or look in the Brooklands thread, here's a view of me riding shotgun in Jai's bargain Uno turbo doing the hillclimb

Sorry about the quality, it was taken on an ancient digi camera with 10 second "movie" facility. And Jai, only joking about the 'shed' comment. Jai's UT has to have one of the most solid unrestored mk1 UT shells I've seen for years. Paintwork is a bit, erm, "interesting" but it will come up nicely with a bit of work!

Cool vid, went pretty well up there I thought. Much more interesting than the raft of Bravo's in the first stint, and the 100hp, and the silver 147 GTA (looked like he was taking it very easy) There were couple of older cars that went like stink, the red abarth, the green and orange machine (whatever that was) and the 6R4 (thought it was an Italian car show!) the Superleggera was pretty cool and the little blue machine which almost needed a push.

Re: Fastest shed at Brooklands!

Its funny how we use different terms for things. In NZ a hillclimb is an insane blast up a 3 - 6km stretch of windey roads in the middle of nowhere (normally a two lane mountain road).
That looks just as fun (and a lot safer). I would imagin the start would be the hard bit, trying to maintain the correct throttle to not do lots of wheel spin. Also are they not worried people would go blasting over the finish line and crash into those houses?

Our last hillclimb resulted in a big off that desroyed a very tidy car and required the rescue helicopter to take the driver away... (he had a suspected broken back, but I havn't heard anything since?) AND the crash happened after the finish line!!! There was a 90 degree left straight after the finish, the temptation was to go full power over the finish, then brake...

Looks like a walk in the park compared with ours - ours is a closed public road with no-one around, that one looks more like a farm track lined with people!

We would call those 'houses' in NZ, but I think they are more like clubrooms or maybe even farm buildings to English folk. No doubt someone will fill us in on what they are!

Remember that there's still as proof of your efforts

By the way, about that more recent hillclimb of ours, Aaron was OK and sent a message of thanks to all who hung around that afternoon waiting for the chopper to arrive (which you did, of course.)

Re: Fastest shed at Brooklands!

That's not a hillclimb in the traditional motorsport way - as you say a hillblimb is a dash along a short stretch of country roads by everything from Minis or ex Formula 3 cars.
