(G) oil leak uno turbo

Hi there,bought my uno turbo recently,and have noticed a oil leak,just wondering what the main places are to check to try and find where it is?
With this when i am stuck in traffic steam/smoke comes up from the bonnet

I had the same problem, but don't know if that is your problem. My uno's compression rings were finished and the car started to breath and smoke (oil fumes) would come out of my bonnet when I drove in traffic. The car also leaked oil - oil being pushed out through the breather.

Just my 2c..

The most common places oil spills from is the filler cap its a poor design on the mark 2s, dipstick (if the rubber is worn), rocker cover gasket (if its worn), Oil pressure sender can leak causing the oil light to flash up every so often, oil cooler pipes.

If you're getting smoke could be the turbo seals are worn i'm afraid, or check your breather piper is not blocked as has been mentioned already.

Park in drive street and allow to start smoking then open bonnet to see where it's coming from. If it's overheating you'll probably need a new HG.

The car does not overheat at all,pulls well in every gear,but is quite noisy sometimes in different gears.

Id start by cleaning all the engine and bay, underneath with a jetwasher, then see if there any external leaks, sounds like oil dripping on exhaust, Ant!

have cleaned a lot of the engine bay,and has cut the smoke down due to oil being cleaned off,but have now noticed that the smoke comes form the back of the engine bay,roughly under where the wipers sit???
