Maybe a Dodgy Seller of Uno bits on ebay

I placed a bid on some koni ajustable shocks yesterday. I placed £51 as my max bid but had to go out so couldn't watch the auction end. When I got in i'd been outbid and the auction was won by somebody for £52. However the winner had no feedback. The seller had emailed me almost straight away to say that I could have them for my maximum bid (£51). However I emailed to say that if the other person hadn't have bid i'd have won them for £30 so i'd pay that for them. He has not replied as of yet.

Seems to me like he's got his mate to have a bid on them in order to get the price up. I haven't put their username up on here but I will if anybody wants me to.

Matt

Re: Maybe a Dodgy Seller of Uno bits on ebay

Sounds like 'Bid Shilling' to me. Another give away is lots of bids of small increments by the same person over a very short time period. Then they exceed the maximum genuine bid so they give you a 'second chance' offer, which is always your maximum bid. I had this happen last year on a guitar, but even though I knew bid shilling had taken place the second chance offer was still a bargain price so I went for it.

Oh, and it might not necessarily be a 'mate' who was bidding them up. It's very easy to open a second Ebay account and Ebay do fcuk all with regards to dodgy bidding anyway. The higher the auctions sell the more money Ebay makes so why would they want to clamp down? Grrrr!

£60 quid for those manky Konis sounds a bit too much anyway!

I take it this is the item:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/fiat-uno-turbo...QQcmdZViewItem

If so, a suspect bidder definitely. Only been a member of Ebay for three days...

And hello to you Mr. hunnybunny50

How strange. The 'winning' bidder who allegedly pulled out of the auction suddenly has feedback for the item that he apparently didn't win

Who wants to bet that these Koni's will be back on sale again shortly?

Re: Maybe a Dodgy Seller of Uno bits on ebay

I use my girlfriends mums account which is the reason for the girly name. I'm gonna keep watching for em I reckon they'll be back on in the next couple of weeks. I reported him to ebay anyway.

Still need some konis though :-(
