Lightbulb Uno drivers please read this!

I am doing a little survey to see what Unos are out and about the u.k. Its for personal interest really, but if u all put in a post it could prove quite interesting maybe even helpful.

- So if u could just state what the model/s of your uno/s are. e.g Mk1 turbo ie (F:1989).

-If your rides are running, in progress, or breaking.

- If ur engine is modified or standard. If modified what bhp ur outputting.

- What area you live in?

I just want to find out a rough idea to how many unos are left in the u.k.
Post some pics if u want. I will tally the results. Could be helpful in future for meets, cruises and so on.

PLEASE DO NOT POST RANDOM STUFF ONLY THE INFORMATION SPECIFIED!

Cheers lads and lass's

Re: Uno drivers please read this!

a couple of years ago, an enterprising soul at the turbo collective, contacted the dvla, and made some enqs, i can't remember or find the exact figures he got, but it was roughly

150 mk1s
250 mk2s

still registered, either runners, or shed queens like my baby.

when you consider time, cars that have been pole dancing, mouldering away, broken up, etc...i would reckon those numbers could be easily 30% less.

lobster, do you have a search function on tc? maybe you could find that post?

Re: Uno drivers please read this!

Got 3 At the mo..

1. a 1993 Uno start 1.0 ie running totally standrd at 45HP is technically on the road – though only the back 2 wheels as still waiting for the correct clutchkit.

2. 1988 Uno Fire with all the charm of a basic MK1 Uno, but all the running gear of the 1.3 Turbo (less the head). In project ATM waiting for time to drop in another lump. BHP not known.

3. 1991 turbo IE – last few bits to be removed before scrapping the bare shell. 0 BHP as the engine went to Cornwall on a pallet.

1986 mk1 Uno 45S - currently SORNED since last December. Awaiting Punto 1242 MPi engine conversion

1989 mk1 Uno 70SX - Having new clutch fitted. Will be going on the road shortly as my daily driver.

1990/91 mk2 Uno 70SX - SORNED since mid '06. Most likely being scrapped. Spares will go towards the mk1 45S 1242 conversion and also the mk1 70SX. Other bits will be sold.
