Sell or break my mk2 Uno 70SX i.e.?

I hope this is ok linking to a classifieds! Mods please remove if it's not.

Basically I want to know whether people think I should sell complete or break my mk2 Uno 70SX i.e. Full details are given in the advert below:

Am I to be shot at dawn for breaking up a tidy looking mk2 Uno 70SX i.e. or is it not really worth anything to anyone else other than a Uno nut?

Are there any major problems with it, if not might be worth keeping one more uno on the road?

As far as I know, both sills need welding, the brakes need sorting and the exhaust is very rusty so will need changing very soon. Needs a set of tyres too and an MOT.

Thing is, if it's only worth £100 then I'd have to spend that on buying another Uno anyway to get the parts I need for my mk1 conversion. Hence why I'm contemplating scrapping it

Well the sills could prove to be quite an expensive repair so you probably wont get much for it in which case you would be better off stripping it and selling it in bits (pity i can change my vote now.) And on the plus side if you sell it for bits, you will be giving a new life to a whole load of other unos

Re: Sell or break my mk2 Uno 70SX i.e.?

Tiz sad when it comes to this decision. Surpose it depends on how attached to the car you are sentimentaly (sp).

I know i could never let Louie break his Uno Start it would be far too sadit been a good little car and to break it would be so wrong!

My first car went to car heaven (Ford) and a regret it soooo much, she had a failed an MOT due to rust on the underside, but to look at everything else she was mint, just wish Id not given in and should have kept her to restore I didnt know much about cars then and went with someone elses decision..bad move!

So back to my original quote 'depends on how attached you are to her sentimantaly'? and also if her good points out weigh the bad ones?

Re: Sell or break my mk2 Uno 70SX i.e.?

Well, as of today I've had zero offers for the car as it stands and not that much interest in the parts either! So looks like it's going to be broken up for spares unless something miraculous happens in the next couple of weeks or so.

Emm, I'm not that attached to the car as I haven't actually driven it. I bought it with a view to doing it up, but the opportunity to buy a 36K mile mk1 70 SX came up that I couldn't resist. So now it's surplus to requirements plus could yield a lot of spares that I can use for both my mk1's.

Pics to follow of my new mk1 70SX once I get a chance of some daylight and dry weather

Are the driveshafts on these the same as on the 1.0ie model?
