| Few questions about SPI Hello I'm trying to put SPI in my Fiat Uno 60S . Today I connected everything except 2 connectors for "fuel evaporation control" valves, as I think they are unneccesary. If I'm wrong please tell me.I don't have any shematic diagram, but I have complete electric instalation from engine compartment. 3 wires go into passanger compartment. One of them (brown) goes to fuel pump. Orange wire with white line I think it goes to ignition key. If I put +12V to this wire, relay turns on complete SPI. For the third wire (green) I don't know where it goes. Maybe it goes to ignition coil ![]() Ok, this is my problem: If I put 12V to orange wire, fuel pump turns on, but it doesn't shut down after 2 or 3 seconds but it keeps running . Where is the problem?SPI is taken from Uno 1.1IE 1993 Thanks

| Re: Few questions about SPI I did some research and discovered that I was right about green wire. It goes to ignition coil, like rev counter ![]() I still don't have idea why fuel pump doesn't turn off. Tomorrow I will try to connect green wire to +12V and see what happens. Maybe if there is low voltage on this wire, computer thinks that engine is running Strange, as no fuel came from injector.

| Re: Few questions about SPI If anyone knows what this carbon filter and electric valves are good for and if engine should work normally without them, please tell me.

As far as I understand it should run fine without it. Whether the ECU picks up that the cannister solenoid is disconnected I don't know. If it does then all you need to do is connect the solenoid and leave out the cannister, that way the ECU will be kept happy. If the ECU doesn't pick up the disconnected solenoid as a fault you can junk the whole of the carbon cannister system

| Re: Few questions about SPI I discovered what was the problem about fuel pump - wrong type of relay . Today I put different relay into socket and now it seems to work as it should. I didn't start the engine yet, as I have to change inlet manifold.1986Uno45S: Thanks for explanation.

| Re: Few questions about SPI I have a new question. Do you think I will pass emissions test without catalytic converter if they test my car like it has carburator

Your car will be subjected to the emissions test that applies to the age of the vehicle regardless of whether it is SPi or carburettor.
