Difference between 999ccm and 1108ccm

Hello, I'm new here. Friend gave me engine that came from crashed 1998 Fiat Uno, but he doesn't know if it is 999ccm or 1108ccm. Is there any way to find out which engine I have?

Thanks

Look on the engine block. I'm fairly sure it will be stamped 999 or 1108 depending on capacity.

Find the engine type code, stamped somewhere on the engine block, and google it.

Thanks for your help, but I have to clean the engine first - it's so dirty that I can't find any number

The only code that makes sense on this motor is 46400108. It is stamped on the engine head. On the engine block I didn't find anything useful except noumber 98 that stands for production year.

The 1108cc block is taller than the 999cc block isn't it?

There will be an engine code on the silver plate on the top of the slam panel also the 999 cars are 45 models and the 1108 are 60 models.

Re: Difference between 999ccm and 1108ccm

The car (or slam panel) didn't come with the engine

The car was crashed about a year ago, engine was taken out and the car was compressed into cube.

If it is 1108 I will keep it for spare, if it is 999 i will get rid of it, as it takes a lot of space.

The 1108cc block is taller than the 999cc block isn't it?

I was told that the blocks are the same for both engines, but I'm not sure if it's true. I will compare with 1108 engine that is in my car.
