Re: My Black MK1 UT thread

Re: My Black MK1 UT thread

I steam cleaned my uno t carpet & it came up like new, don't know if i'd try it on the seats.I know someone who left a set of door cards out in the rain & they warped. He fitted the cards back on but after a while they'd pop off
Your uno looks VERY nice

Re: My Black MK1 UT thread

nah changed my mind gonna keep at it do a bit every day or so and eventually it'll be done!

started painted the inside of the uno today, am using black hammerite smooth, not gonna spray it cause no ones going to see it as it'll be covered up with sound deadening and carpet!

started going dark so didnt finish but it'll all be done tomorrow.

Re: My Black MK1 UT thread

Good to here the restoration continues, I'm in a similar situation with my strada, spent 3 days welding and have atleast another 3 days more to do. Need to take some time off.

Is that a hole in the floor I see? Have you tried something like Hammerite Kurust? use a wire brush on the floor, paint with hammerite Kurust, then paint with smoothrite.

I think Pottleflump mean this bit of the floor (circled in red). Maybe it's just some spilt black paint?

Re: My Black MK1 UT thread

finished painting the footwells today! i got some sound deadening 100cm x 60cm rolls £10 each from a car audio shop in town, the two rolls i have got will do all four footwells but i wanna do all the boot and inside the rear quarter behind the rear door cards.

the rattley interior of my last uno really annoyed me so want this to be much better, I've fitted my sub amp cables properly too just need to buy some speaker cables next then can fit my cleaned interior back in!

Good effort there!

I did something similar to mine earlier this year - fitted a large amount of silver foil-bitumen sound deadening...

I'll be interested to know the outcome of yours - my Uno is seemingly every bit as rattly as ever It could have something to do with the fact that when I drive it, I've usually stepped out of something much newer, like the 2006 Civic Hybrid (which is now back with its 'owner', i.e. the person who pays the lease).
