| My MK1 Uno Turbo So I did some photoshopping, which would my car MK1 Uno Turbo look like in the future. It is lowered, my favourite and imo most suiting navy blue colour, dark windows, 15" wheels, M3 style side mirrors and plenty of more. Of course want your opinion, suggestions and ideas mates. Let me know. ![]()

| Re: My MK1 Uno Turbo at the moment it is like that. I don't like the paint anyway, it has a few rust dots so overspraying would be fun ![]()

| Back once again w'the... | Re: My MK1 Uno Turbo Given the choice between the two, I think the blue one looks a lot nicer ![]() You took your photo with the flash - so the dirt inside the wheelarches shows up more than necessary! But even so, it looks a bit high at the front. The bumper needs to at least be partially black IMHO to tie in with the side graphics - or of course remove the graphics for the clean look of your Photoshop car. I actually quite like the subtle bad-boy bonnet you've designed. I notice that you de-locked the doors in Photoshop as well - good move. I like those wheels. But like Goldie, I don't like the sunstrip or the wiper stuck half-way - and I'm undecided about the wing mirrors! Just my opinions, mind -Alex

| Re: My MK1 Uno Turbo Like the colour, not the wheels or mirrors though, would look MUCH better with side skirts, some cup mirrors and slammed on some deep dish euro style wheels imo. Otherwise i like it. ![]() I just photoshopped it for you as well hmmmmmm..i'm begining to fall in love with the mark 1 shape now after looking at this pic lolF R O $ T Y

| Re: My MK1 Uno Turbo Nooooo don't do it! Silver Mk1's are fantastic, and pretty rare too. Plus it wouldn't cost too much getting it back to original condition. You need to put natural black plastic bumpers, sill and wheelarch trims back on and lose the silver ones. Spray the grille and wing mirrors body colour. Lose the smoked indicators and replace them with clear lenses, sort the ride height out and put better wheels on. For me it has to be the original turbine wheels too, preferably with graphite centres. Sorry I'm a purist. You should see if you can find one in less original condition to do up and keep this one as she is. That's only me being me though and you can do whatever you like......Matteo.

| Cinq gone, Uno asylum! | Re: My MK1 Uno Turbo I agree with most that's been said already. Mirrors - look all wrong. Keep them standard. Sunstrip - Nooooooooo! Boy racer/ Chav look Vertical wiper - No. The bonnet is actually designed to deflect air over the wiper when it's parked anyway, so you're actually increasing wind restistance! Very small I know, but it's worth pointing out! Blacked out windows - No. Looks too 'bling'. The originals should have a light green tint anyway... Bumpers, skirts and arch trims - Need to be black to give the Uno the 'chunky' look. Front Grill - Don't minds either way. They look good either colour coded or black. Bad Boy Bonnet - Nooooooo! 17 year Max Flower readers are into that. Chav territory, and looks wrong on a mk1. Colour - I like the blue, but being such an old turbo maybe it would be wise to keep the original colour. A colour change is a LOT of work and requires the whole shell to stripped and repainted. A respray in original colour would be easier. These are my opinions, and that's all they are so please don't be offended by them. It's your car, so ultimately you should do what is best for you. Keep us posted with your thoughts and musings!

| Re: My MK1 Uno Turbo Thanks to all of you for ideas ![]() It made me think twice before doing anything. Of course this project may take place next spring after the winter. At the moment I have some interior problems, too much road noise and different sounds inside, that doesn't sound good at all. Have to silence something, that's a lot of work. The mirrors had a point imo: the original ones can be moved - the mirror itself and the glassy part of it, if I go and sit in my UT, sometimes the mirros have moved( someone may have hit it accidentally and it is out of it previous location) these mirrors that I have with PS there can only the glassy part moved and the mirros itself stays in it's position, so it sounds practical a little bit. Sunstrip was just an idea, as the PS was open, and the front window seemed so large, I needed something to make the area smaller:P Don't like the strip myself anyway. These wheels that Frosty posted look awesome (Y). But I'm not sure if these are made with this 4x98 size. These that I used are at the market and buyable. This wiper it is centered just for a better pic look. I am not going to change the original one anyway. Original mono one looks good anyway. My windows at the moment are very dark anyway, so I can't do anything about that. Front grill and the bonnet are the biggest problems. At PS I just made the FIAT mark dissapear, but the grill stayed the same-not very good solution. And what to do with the bonnet I have no idea. IMO small "brows" bad boy hood suits well enough - MK1 original front lights are so enormously big, so they can be made smaller a bit. All these plastic bumpers and sideskirts are a problem too. Here some tuning companies even offer a nice body kit for Uno's. As the original ones are pretty broken and needs some restoring, and the restoring and respray prices are high, I may have to buy a new kit for the car. New kit makes the car lower, but this leads to a heavy tuning. far away from the original. http://www.gup-tuning.ee/?CarManufac...afb2eca864a31c a link to the parts, of course click the Uno section. Thanks to all of you. Many good ideas no what do and not. If I will do all these works one day I will let you all know for sure. But new ideas, more more and more are welcome ![]()

| Mighty v6 power | Re: My MK1 Uno Turbo Well mate... Looking at that web site u got there none of those bumpers will suit the car they all look The uno is a 80's icon so it's ment to be squrae with big head lights, those bumpers for the uno will make it look stupid they look to jap crappy if you see wha i mean. I would say Change your wheels lower the car tidy up your paint but keep the silver colour get some clear indicators for the front At least if you make sensible mods you can take them off when you come to sell the car, and the car will retain its original value.... Thats how im modding mine just wheels, lowering kit, smooth doors and im gonna keep most of my mods under the bonnet id like to see 150 bhp then id be happy any more than that and you need to start spending serious money so 150 bhp is good enough. But how you mod your car is up to you but just dont destroy a good ut there gettin so rare and hard to find nowa days... hope this helps you mate rob

| Re: My MK1 Uno Turbo :P Yes I will try to get about 145 bhp out of the engine one day And then trying to get rid of these weird sounds: dashboard ´and clutch pedal are doing some squeaking sounds, very annoyning. The sound of the road, that's ok, listening to the moving wheels and turbo sound, the best sounds ever.Engine modding seems so easy but yet so hard. Originally I have 77kw, at the moment I have only K&N, and free flow exhaust. Does they give anything? These bumpers will fit on perfectly, but they will not look like the Uno's used to look for sure. Yes, it really helped me Made me think over these things that no need for heavy tuning, just to get some more bhps and get rid of all annoying sounds + tidy up the paint and keep it original, to restore the bumpers and then add 15" wheels. Lowering is not very good idea:the roads are in a very (N) condition, so I don't want to lose my oil radiator for example.Damn you all have so good ideas. ![]()

| Mighty v6 power | Re: My MK1 Uno Turbo If yours is a turbo then it's around 105 bhp standard, few simple mods like a bleed valve, k&n, exhaust good plugs and a service will see you up to the 125 - 130 bhp which i think is a good safe power to run, after all you gotta stop it after, so any more and your going to have to think about brake upgrades and it starts to get expensive. Body mods should be kept suttle just try and use simple effective mods to enhance the apperence of the mk1 turbo, after all you are driving a 80's icon not skyline with deep dish wheels and huge spoilers. But like i say its your choice but i like them smooth with a nice set of wheels and lowered then if you changed your mind you can swap the original wheels and springs back. I think smoothing the doors, lowered 40mm, new alloys maybe 15" and some clear indicators would sharpen the look of your car with out wrecking the style and image it carries. As for those noises just spend a day with some tools making sure every thing is tight like door cards, seats, dash etc and check the operation on the clutch pedal and i might just want a squirt of oil to stop the squeaks every time u push the pedal down. Bottem line is my friend is your lucky to be a owner of a mk1 uno turbo so please dont destroy it with bonnet scoops and window banners the car was never ment for all that plus take the weight into consideration as the uno weighs 845 kg so power to weight is amazing, to many mods and your talking to much weight.. Just talk to people and get some ideas, note them as you go along and one day you will wake up and have it all ready in your head what u want and go for it...... best of luck mate ![]()

| Re: My MK1 Uno Turbo Brakes are upgraded already. Suspension isn't. At the front I have these smoke side lights and at the back clean and clear lights. Looks quite good to me ![]() By smoothing the doors you mean like this clean look at he hatch at the back Rob? Yeah a few wheels are sold here, but these low profile tyres cost f*****g much. Actually I am not sure if 15" will fit perfectly. I have these "wheel cave surroundings" or whatever their name is, maybe it won't fit. These sounds will be dealed with soon, I have to take the car to the service garage anyway, I will let someone handle with these things.
