wat tyres

got myself some 14x7 alloys for my uno was wonderin wat the best tyres would be for them was hopin for bout 185/50s will they fit ok

i have 195 x 45 x 15 i would go lower profile as poss but that just my opnion
. as it rubs some times , been lowered 30 mm all upgraded susp

I think mine are 7 wide and I also run 195/45 15s.

I'd say that even 195 tyres (basically the narrowest you can get in a 15" size) are too wide. It gives you less grip on a racetrack, and is dangerous on a wet road.

Take a look at http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbi...yre_bible.html - excellent page, tells you all you need to know about everything related to tyres. Scroll down to the Tyre Size Calculator (not the Vintage tyre calculator, keep scrolling...) and check your proposed size against the original size (for the Uno Turbo) of 175/60 13.

You are actually spot-on with your idea of 185/50 14 - if you can get them, that's only a 0.07% difference in rolling diameter!

But the seven-inch rims may be a little too wide for 185 tyres - ride will be harsh and the sidewalls will have that Euro 'stretched' look.
