Re: shoe polish

I've tried black shoe polish, it doesnt really work.

Something I've found that works well on black trim is the paint on black stuff for tyres (comes in a small tub and is quite runny), I use a spray gun to apply it to black parts and it seems to last really well.

Re: shoe polish

Silicon spray will do the job.

Re: shoe polish

This stuff I found is really good, it is silicone based (so has all the positives of the spray) but it also has a black tint which means longer periods of time between applications, or apply this once for badly faded bumpers then use standard silicone from then on to maintain the appearance.

Unfortunately I think many people are looking for a permanent cure for their faded bumpers, this I think is impossible (otherwise they wouldnt have faded in the first place). The above method is good for fixing the problem, but regular maintenance is required from then on.

Re: shoe polish

Alot of people in the dub scene use black shoe polish on plastic bumpers and trim. I tried it myself on my golf, The results were good but using autoglym bumper care was alot easier to apply and looked better imo.

Apparently using shoe polish lasts months.

It also stains your clothes black if you rub your clothes on parts you polished!
