Changing brakepads?

I'm not one for throwing cash at mechanics if I can help it and I was wondering if I could expand my Ulysse home-servicing capabilities beyond bulbs, fluids and filters?

Decent brakepads and discs seem to be readily available online. Has anyone here tackled a change of pads? Surely it can't be too difficult? Certainly no more difficult than changing the foglight bulbs!

Re: Changing brakepads?

I've done mine before. Not too complex.
If your not too sure then get a Haynes manual (if they do one yet) they give you all the info.

Re: Changing brakepads?

No Haynes manual yet.
I really fancy sticking a set of Green Stuff pads on the old girl.

I'll get the wheels off and have a poke around.

Re: Changing brakepads?

If it's the same as mine there are 2 12mm boults that face into the wheel arch (ie towards the engine) that need undoing. the whole caliper then slides off. Pads come out. New ones in (after pistons squeezed back)
Caliper back tighten bolts (use a little thread lock)
Pump brake peddle to remove gap.
You can change the front set in less than 30 mins.

If the pads come with the warning light wire remember to plug that in.

Re: Changing brakepads?

Thanks. When I have the wheels off I'll take a good look.
