Hi, we have a 1998 2.0el. The passenger side floor in the front is wet and seems to be getting wetter by the day!!! Does anybody have any idea where it may be coming from. Also I think I have read it on here, but i'll just check! It judders alot in 5th gear (as if your revs are too low) do I just have to disconect the battery for a few mins??? and it'll be cured?
Cheers for any advice!

Has it been raining? If not then it could be the heater matrix check your coolent water level ialso you might get the smell the coolant. Check door seals and any signs of water ingress at bottom of windscreen (discolouration). If not

With 5th gear stutter I found that disconnecting the ECU has worked for me, and checking connections on the loom and Ecu of signs of rust/water. I have sprayed a little Wd40 on connections and once all reconnected I have used one of those sealent sprays for electrical equipment again no problems since.

Is the ecu the silver box type thing on the left as you look under the bonnet?

Dont know if this helps but I had exactly the same problem with a vauxhall cavalier and discovered it was simply blocked guttering on the bonnet redirecting rain water inside the car.

Lift your bonnet and clean out all your guttering of muck and leaves around the wiper blades and in the corners. run your hands all around the guttering to clear it, this should solve the problem.

It could be the air conditioning drain. We had this on a Punto and there was also a recall on the MkII Ulysse for this as well. Both symptoms were wet passenger carpets, more towards the middle than the door. Might be worth a look.

Have you looked at the heater matrix? It's located in the centre console of the dash, and on a vehicle of that age are prone to leakage, especially in the passanger footwell (the voice of experience). The cost of replacement was about £140 three years ago!!! And i fitted it myself. If you want to know how give us a shout.

Yippee, Sussed it!!! It was some sort of drain pipe behind the centre consol sort of thing, looks like it had been pulled out for some work or something and not plugged back into the little hole it was meant to be in!!!
