Passenger side rear window

Went back to my car the other night and this window was fully down. Thought it was me and had opened by mistake. Car got a bit wet but luckly not too bad.

Have noticed thread "Windows down without activation" on the eurovan site www.eurovan2.com and wonder if anyone else had had this issue?

Lots, also unlocking themselves and opening sliding doors.
Software problems with body ecu and alot of faulty body ecu's.
Let us know if you get any more probs and what your dealer says about it.

Hi,

Mine had this fault, the rear passenger window opened and also the drivers side font. This was preceded by problems with the auto gearbox indication and catalyst warning. The dealer has ordered me a new body computer to solve the problems.

I'll let you know if it does.

Found that wood then?

I have had no problems this end as well [with my windows, not the wood!?!]. I know there was a recall about those sliding doors - has your car gone into the dealers yet, david75, to be sorted, or not?

Hi Stuart,
I don't actually have a ulysse[:0]but I do work with them.
I noticed a few cars comming in with these problems and thought I would check out the forum to see what was happening across the country. Had another one today with faulty locking(body ECU fault)
The recall to reprogram the body computer on the early models fixed the window opening faults but removed the window fuction from the remote (total closure etc.).
Not seen the sliding door recall, i'll check it out cheers

Hi,

I am waiting for a new body computer (due to auto g/box error) and I have had the window fault once. Apparently there is a seperate box to control the windows and it needs updated s/ware.

Hi again,

If I recall from another thread, there have only been 4 recalls on the Ulysse. If anyone wants to check, follow this link

http://www.via.gov.uk/apps/recalls/default.asp

It is good to see that a Fiat engineer [presumably] is looking at this site to see what the true situation is. The dealers don't always seem to know much about the vehicle yet.

Hi stuart
Cheers for the link
Your right the dealers don't get back up on Ulysse but I know it's hard for Fiat UK they are struggling with Italy and France for info also.
PS we were repairing cars before technical courses and manuals given to dealers (1st manual was in Italian).
David coupe 20vt [:(!] rant over.

A lot of problems to the rear doors are related to The electrical contacts, which get dirty and then create o.c. (Open Circuits). Also the NBC (Body Computer) Also causes faults.

Excellent, FiatExpert is back on the forum.

Popped into garage today and they took the body computer out to reach the auto gearbox computer which is sat behind it and have ordered a new one. Anyway is works fine at the moment even with the dodgy computer.

Our local garage is great AHF in Southampton, just pop in without an appointment and they give you a coffee while they take a look.

If all Fiat dealers were like them fiat wouldn't have the reputation they do. I also took our Punto in for a service and it was £98 inc VAT including new oil filter, oil, pollen filter, screen wash, labour etc.

Hmmmm - bit of a trek from the Midlands for a quick visit, but I'm down that way from time to time so may pop in to them at some stage - they seem a bit more helpful than mine!

Hi John,

You ought to give mine a try in Northampton. Lets see how Warren copes this Saturday with my upgrade, etc. Will give all feedback on level of service asap!

Also, welcome back Fiat Expert. You have been missed!

I had the same window problem with mine. 3 times I found the window open in the morning. I tried to re-create the fault for the dealer, but only managed to get it to twitch when it was half open and should be closed. They have changed so many things on my car now that I've lost track. My current problems include a driver window that doesnt close automatically. (all the others do , and it did before the ecu was replaced.)

Had the problem twice more since the first post, once on the passenger side but today on the driver side rear door.

Time to speak to dealer to get it fixed, not happy about this not only a security issue but during the winter when the weather is crappy I don't want my new car to become a rain collector etc.

If this is a non isolated issue which according to this post and others on the the eurovan2 site it looks like it is this should be sorted by the manufacturers.
