TMC won't work in UK

Hi,

I have found out that the TMC system in the PSA group cars will not work with the ITIS system in the UK. Apparently the company which distributes (ITIS) the messages via Classic FM in the UK uses a different format and this is licensed to manufacturers. The RT3 Fiat system is only set up to use free TMC services so until somebody broadcasts this it won't work in the UK.

Still least I won't have to keep listening to Classic FM is the hope it might work.

Always good to hear that one service uses different formats! Makes you laugh, really. Hopefully once it gets more popular, the demand will be there for another station to broadcast!

Just checked out Navtech website again. We are off to Eire later this year, but looks like UK disk covers there, albeit of limited use.

BUT I noticed that the description of this Autumn/Winter 2003 disk states 'Traffic Message Channel codes are not available'!
