SatNav Nipple

The sat nav nipple thing has fallen off! (Or rather has been removed by my 2 year old!). So I now have a non functioning sat nav as there is nothing to input with.

Looking at the (frankly fragile) construction of said part, it looks like the whole spring loaded piece should come out of the housing and be easily replaceable.

Does anyone have previous experience of this, and if so, is it easily fixed or do Fiat charge an arm and a leg for a replacement.

I had a quick look on ebay (which is the easiest source for parts) but it got somewhat excited by the word 'nipple'...........

Rich

Re: SatNav Nipple

Do you mean the navigation wheel thing on the dashboard. I know you can remove the side panels quites easily below the centre console (our boy dropped a pen down there somehow), maybe you could reach up to remove the whole thing to replace or fix it.

I seem to remember looking up the price on EPER once and I don't think it was that expensive. You could also try the Citroen & Peugeot dealers as the prices seem to vary for the same part. So far I have been surprised by how low some Fiat parts prices are.

Re: SatNav Nipple

Same thing happened on my 12 month Ulysse. One dealer tried to charge me £86 for the whole new unit saying that it was trin damage. Went back to my original dealer who i bought the car off and they replaced it under warranty without hesitation. Hope this helps.

Re: SatNav Nipple

The right button of the RT3 does the same job!

The replaceable part is the entire keypad with the 5+2 buttons.

Here we go - I am sure they won't mind! The source is from the Eurovan2 website, just in case.

Re: SatNav Nipple

Cheers Stuart. I'm betting I'll be needing it at some point - when the kids next break it (inevitable) and the manufacturer warranty has expired...

Looks like a classic design fault don't it?
