| Central locking Hi, Just joined the forum. Purchased a Ulysse 2.0 petrol in August. There are a few electrical problems which unfortunately are not coverered by warranty :-( 1. Most importantly the central locking unlocks itself after 5 seconds. (You walk away after turning the key and ... click everything unlocks itself. 2. The direction indicator randomly begins to sound like its indicating ... but it ain't 3. The coolant temp indicator often goes crazy flicking from 80 deg to 120 deg I would be very grateful for any pointers on these problems

| 5vp3r m0d | Hi, Is this a second hand old-style Ulysse? If new, surely all above covered by the warranty [or a misbuild claim!]. Stu PS - Welcome to the Forum.........

| Omitted to say that it's a second-hand 'R' reg Ulysse. The problems didn't seem to occur until the rains came in the autumn. Thanks for the welcome Stuart

| Hi, Welcome :D I had a similar problem with my central locking. Check all the door closed detection switches and make sure that all the doors close properly. The central locking won't let you lock the doors if it thinks one of the doors is open. I don't have the wiring diags but check fuses and any common wiring and/or earths. Dave. So much to do, so little time.... and Totally Skint!! :(

| Sounds like the mechanism on the old and new Ulysse isn't that different - the new one won't let you lock it if it thinks there's a door open also. It will however set the alarm on the doors that are closed, so if you go and open one of the shut doors after trying to lock the car with an open door, it'll set the alarm off. That one caught me out a couple of days ago - as it happened at 7am on new years day (don't ask), I wasn't too popular with the neighbours! John

| Thanks for the suggestions so far. I've cleaned the contacts of the detection switches on the sliding doors with no effect. I've started looking at the fuse box because if all else fails I'll just disable the central locking by cutting off it's juice. However, the fuses that I see in the handbook are concerned with the doors are also supplying other, more vital, parts.
