My drivers heated seat isn't working anymore.

Turn the switch on and the light comes on, but me Bum don't get warm!![:0]

Any ideas as to where I should start looking?

Hi,

I spent some time on this (see last post) and the best place is to measure the output from the switch to see if it has 12V going to the element in the seat.

It may be that the element has gone in the seat.

How old is the car and do you have electric seats.

Blimey! That was a quick reply!.

It's a 2000 EL model, so yes it has electric seats.

Hi,

Happened to be on the site making a post and saw yours.

That makes it more complicated. Hopefully it is the switch. I took mine apart and it has a series of connectors on the wheel which select different resistors on a PCB, these vary the heat. It did look as though it would wear out. If you have a multi meter measure the output resistence to see if it is making contact.

To do a simple test, take the passenger switch out and swap it with the drivers seat and see if it works. On mine they are the same switch.

Good luck.
