Hello all, from a new owner of a 2005 2.0 litre petrol Ulysse.
I'm new to Fiats, and anything less than 20 years old really, so will be looking to this site a lot over the coming months. The car has 79,000 on it, and has impressed us this first week with it's ride, smoothness and obviously the interior.
Despite having receipts for servicing, the air filter lid screws were rusted solid and hadn't been off for a long time, so fitted a new one yesterday. Whilst under there I noticed the vulnerablilty of the ecu(?) mounted on the nearside inner wing. I saw water was getting through the joint in the scuttle plastics, so have sealed that with silicone. The windscreen rubber over the same area is fairly perished, and lets water flow down behind/under the same ecu, which doesn't seem to pose too much risk, but I'll monitor as time goes on.
One question I do have regards the cambelt mod. Does the petrol engine suffer the same fate? I imagine the engine layout/position is broadly similar?
