Hi all,

Slight problem, car won't start after changing my drivers side headlight bulb.

Changed bulb, checked they worked, they did. Tried starting the car half an hour later, turned over ok but wont fire.

No bad lights on dash, tried jump starting and checked fuse box, connections etc. all ok.

Any ideas guys?

Cheers
Dave

I would check the earth points that are behind the headlight, you'll need to remove the bumper and then the headlight.

cheers Fran, will give it a go tonight.

How you been? Long time no speak, OK I hope?

Update...

New battery installed and still not firing up. Turns over well but not firing up.
Dash displayed "Immobilizer Fault" a few times.

Took out engine bay fuse box and noticed a far amount of water and oxidized fuses.
Clean up fuses and got as much moisture out that I could and now neither of the head lights work and car will still not start.

Just locking up the car and now it says "Economy mode".

Could I buy a new fuse box and install ? Or is it linked to the immobilizer ?

Any help appreciated.

The immobiliser fault will be either a fuse in the engine bay fusebox (forget which knew though) or the unit itself or the wiring connectors on it.

ok, all fuses and wiring checked out ok.

is best option make sure everything dry and try again? just literally spray WD40 over everything and hope for the best? Going to open it up and make sure everything is clean and dry.

I have attached a photo of the fuses in case it jogs your memory :)
The 2x red and 1x blue fuses on the left were very oxidised. could this be the problem and opening up and cleaning be a fix?

Again, all help appreciated.

Cheers
Dave
