I knocked my wing mirror with a wheelie bin the other day and the glass fell out but did not break as it was left hanging on its wires, never knew it had heated mirrors, so pushed it back on but it has come out another couple of times, the spring stays in the mirror housing when it falls off I am just wondering doe these mirrors also have adhesive holding them to the circle that moves about when adjusting the mirror?

Also since I never knew they was heated side mirrors how do they switch on or do they come on with the heating?

They come on with the max defrost. No adhesive just the spring, push it in harder.

Normally (on most cars, not sure about the Ulysse) they're stuck onto a backing plate, I assume this is remaining in place within the mirror housing?

The heated mirrors are normally operated when the rear screen is turned on, they do seem to fail after a few years though, if so will need to replace the whole glass unit, normally about £20 all in from eBay etc (y)
