| suck--squeeze--bang--blow | mk1 spare tyre check I recently changed one of my tyres as it was bold as a coot on the inside tread but perfect on the outside. When I went to release the spare it was seized solid after several coatings of wd40 manage to budge the bolt but only very slowly and stopping to spray more wd40 and retighting, slacken and wire brushing the bolt to try to clean more of the rust. After an hour of sweating and swearing I manage to release the spare after an another hour I managed to dismantle the fitting and copper ease the thread before refitting. So I would say it is worth checking yours and greasing the bolt just incase. Cheers. Donald
