Missing key Fob

Hi all,

When i bought my Mk1 Ulysse I only got one key with it and it was not the large one that operated the central locking. I did phone my Fiat dealer at the time to see if i could get one but without the number in the manual he said the car would have to come in, be connected up and a new key coded. Total cost would be between £400 - £600 depending if they have any problems.

This seems a little steep.

Is there another way?

Re: Missing key Fob

hi darrennerrad.

Sorry I can't think of any other way.

I asked about a remote key for mine as I have one but does not work and was quoted £140 but they would need to take the key to send it away. There is a number inside on a sticker which I would think tells them the infra-red code to tune a new key. As you dont have the original I can see how they would need your car to match up a new key. I just got more standard keys cut! £8 for two...

Re: Missing key Fob

I see there is a few on ebay cheapest £21.00 but with seven days to go.there is one at £37.00 with only two days to go. I search by part number in a search engine and it came up with two threads from this forum! the part number is 46001190 and going from the treads it will cost around £70 fitted. Still a fraction of the price of a new key

Hi Donald,

Great to see that your getting there with the idle problem.

Where did you get your keys cut, a local locksmith or a Main dealer, I have always stuggled to find anyone local to cut Ulysse keys.

Re: Missing key Fob

local key cutters(not that East Kilbride shopping centre is local to me!) I think it was simpsons or thompsons or timpsons something like that they checked it did not have anything to with the imobiliser and copied two keys from the original remote key which is the folding type. I was sometimes having differculty locking unlocking with original key but these new ones are great. I do miss the remote function but being I/R it only ever worked from a short distance.

As for the idle prob the sensor was just replaced today. So it is still wait and see, but fingers crossed... I am also trying samy's idea about the disconnecting the hose.

Sorry for going on for so long i'm almost as bad as Eugene on big brother!!!!

All the best
donald
