Setting the RT3 Date and Time

Does anyone know how to set the date and time on the RT3 unit? I've looked through the Connect NAV+ manual and it isn't mentioned. I can't find any menu settings for this either.

At the moment I have 1st January 2000 flashing on the display continuously. I presume the time is normally updated by the satellite system(?) but I had to take the unit out yesterday and it has lost the clock setting.

... and here's a warning for you - I had to take the unit out because my son managed to load a CD into the slot - when there was already a CD in. It then couldn't eject the discs, and in the end I had to take the system out and dismantle it to get at the drive and remove the second CD. I put the system back in this morning, so it was it out of the car overnight (although the battery reads 100%). Surely I don't have to go to the dealer just to set the clock?

Re: Setting the RT3 Date and Time

You can set the clock using one of the menus. Can't remember where. Will look later.

Re: Setting the RT3 Date and Time

Thanks Pat, I managed to find it. There doesn't seem to be a menu selection for it, but if you display the clock full screen (with the mode button) then press the "function" button, a screen is displayed for entering the date and time. There is also a box you can tick for allowing the GPS to synchronise the minutes. Strange they didn't cover that in the manual.

Re: Setting the RT3 Date and Time

1) menu->configuration->international parameters->date&time.
2) as you described.
note: in order to get what you described as "full screen clock", you need to turn RT3 off (push volume button), then this screen replaces music screen. pressing then the dial button (alternatively, the left round button) will bring up date&time adjustment screen
