I took my car for mot yesterday it failed due to air bag fault and passenger side deactivated and I can fix the problem bin looking for weeks I thought wires mite of come loose under seat as ppl told me it was common problem and I had 2 mates look at it and no joy what I've bin told by a proper micanic who used to work at fiat is the switch passenger side by door is another common fault to get one and he will fix it so gonna cost me 50 quid for the part plus his labour hopefully that will sort it if not I'm screwed :(

Lol I have loads of those switches in stock, yours for a tenner and easy enough for your granny to fit!!

90% of airbag issues are the comm2000 being faulty but you could do with putting it on Lexia to narrow the search.
 
having had the same fault, i would clean up your fuse box in the engine bay!

Then the blue connector behind the dash/driver's side.
 
Due to mot mine next month. Can't turn light off and due to the hours I work I can't really be bothered to fix it, how would I go about putting tape over the light to get it through a mot? Know how to remove the dials but haven't a clue how to open them....
 
You don't have to remove the glovebox, the panel at the end of the dashboard just prises off.
 
other than that, i fixed mine by cleaning the engine fuse box connections, and removed the lower part of the dash, drivers side, and there's a blue 4 pin connector under there, take it apart and clean it with electrical cleaner
