After all that about EGR valves, etc, (though I'm still going to change it as it throws up P1402 - EGR metering orifice restricted) I took a look at the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler - yes, split!

So, I employed my personal best bodge of the decade using lots of gaffer and over it all a piston ring compressor. Having had the car de-fapped and re-mapped the increase in power and torque took me by surprise. Well worth the money.

Now to order a replacement pipe. Why does Eper not work nowadays?

Assuming your engine is a DW12TED4, the Peugeot part numbers for the turbocharging pipework are:

1. Plastic pipe which goes under the engine - 0382X6
2. Pipe which goes from the plastic pipe to the bottom of the intercooler - 0382FL
3. Pipe which attaches to the top of the intercooler - 0382X5

I think the part numbers for a Citroen C8 will be the same, so you could try a Citroen or Peugeot dealer for the part you need.

It's 03832FL - which I think is an assembly of three parts? What was your source for this? Was there a parts illustration? Thanks!

Please ignore that last question - I have re-discovered the pleasures of Peugeot "Service Box"! And yes, 0383FL is the whole assembly... which I suppose as it's a kind of mission critical component it's worth shelling out for, rather than just a £29.99 hose on e-bay.

In fact Fiat quoted £15 more than Peugeot - but when the part arrived it was branded Fiat... Weird? To clarify, I asked a Peugeot parts man for a Peugeot part number and he ordered and supplied me with a Fiat part at a lower price than Fiat had quoted. Funny old world.
