Hi!
Never thought I'd own a she'd like this but a very very useful car!
Dragged it out if a hedge for £300 on a campsite in Bew Forest!
Sold personnel plate for £900 so I'm quids in so far!!
I digress!

My interior lights don't work when ANY if the doors open!
I can switch them on manually on the overhead console tho!
But they stay on all the time irrespective if switch position!
I put the switch midway between actions to turn them out!!

Is there a relay somewhere to make them work??
Any ideas??

Also!
WHERE are cabin filters located??
I can't find them!!!!!

You'll probably find the lights staying on are due to the door switches, usually the side door ones.
They are located (if mem serves me right) at the back of the door frames located within the catch. ( if you open drivers side rear door and look at the left side of the opening about half way up!).
Once door is open, manually push and hold the switch for about 10 secs and see if the light goes out. if not try other side. If still doesn't go out try both together (in case both at fault).
Also repeat with front doors if necessary(they are in the front pillar i think).

If it's the rear one/s (most common) you can either buy new (ouch) try scrappers (could still be faulty ones though) or simply remove and use epoxy adhesive (araldite or similar) to build the protruding lug up about 3mm which should then solve the problem.

they do have relays/timers but it is very rare for them to be at fault.

My previous 4 Mk 1's all had this fault and it was always the rear door and 3 out of 4 were the drivers side door.
