My 2004 Ulysse came with one key so in an effort to save money, I've bought a used key from eBay £20, got new blade cut from the code by keysinthepost £10 and 5 new transponders from eBay £7. Now using PP2000 I've coded the transponder to the car and the the key works perfectly apart from key fob.

The PP2000 instructions didn't work, I've tried holding the lock button whilst turning on the ignition 3 times, using my good key in the ignition and pressing my new fob lock button and everything else I've found on google........ Has anyone here bought a 2nd hand keyfob and successfully programmed it to their Ulysse?

I take it that the battery in the fob is good? AFAIK the transponder chip is located in the swiveling key body - whilst the fob has a battery on the little pcb inside.

Changed battery with working fob, still no joy. The blade from the ebay key comes out by using a small drill or pin to remove to two holding plastic pins either side of the blade (you'll see two indents on one side of the holder). Send you key code to keysinthepost and they send you a cut peugeot laser blade. The peugeot blade has a hole in the middle and is slightly longer so hack saw the end off just below the hole so the the key now has a nice flat end with rounded corners. Place the key inside and mark how far it goes in. Now marry this up with the keyholder retaining holes and take the hacksaw to make a 1mm ish cut on each side. Slide the key in and niw you need something to keep the key in place....... I used tiny bits of copper earth from lighting cable to use as pins with a drop of super glue on. The transponder is replaced easily by removing the sticker on one side of the holder with a pin, now use to pin to remove the transponder from it's slot and replace. Sorted! Mechanical key and immobiliser should now be sorted. Hope this helps.

I should have put at the beginning that to remove the key holder - take your fob completely so remove fiat over, use 5p piece to crack open case in the slot, remove pcb, now the rest is brute force! The spring loaded button obviously has to be pushed down, but the other end of the spring also needs to come up. In the end I just push the button in and pulled while prising the joint open.

Still, need info on how to program a keyfob if anyone can help. The PP2000 instructions of holding the lock button for 10 seconds after switching on ignition does not work. I've tried pressing both buttons, one then the other. Just can't seem to get it to play ball...... Could be broken of course but if anyone has programmed in a replacement keyfob, I would love to know how you did this.

I've just got a new key and fitted it to our second fob, so will have a go over the weekend at both transponder and fob - via either Lexia or PP2000. Will let you know!

Brill, did you replace the transponder in the key holder too?
No - and I've not yet put Lexia or PP2000 on the job, got held up by other stuff, getting "emissions system fault" message. Which now forces me to finally fit new particulate filter which has been sitting here for months...

As far as I can see there's no need to change the transponder - doesn't the car learn its numbers? That's what thought yours did?

Changed mine, to be honest I didn't try it beforehand as I just thought that transponders could be programmed to a car once and resynchronised to the same car should the synchronisation be lost (kinda like a one hit memory chip) . I hope it works for you but you'll know why if not (let me know I'll send you a transponder if it doesn't work as I have a spare one)

When I've managed to fit my new particulate filter, I'll have a go! (Filter will have to come off in order to take the pipe to the pressure differential sensor off as it's hard to get a stillson wrench on under the car.)

Looking around the web, I think you're right, the key has to have a "virgin" transponder. How much would you want for this one? And how did you fit it?

Hi, does this help?

Thanks - transponder fitted, programmed! Now have two keys that will start the car - BUT NEITHER will open doors/lock/unlock! Same problem as you have. Bugger.
