Ulysse 1.9TD EL 1999 Sliding Door Problem

WHEN UNLOCKING CENTRAL LOCKING NEARSIDE ,SLIDING DOOR DOES NOT UNLOCK. TAKEN OFF TRIM, RELEASE DOOR , DOOR ACTIVATES CORRECTLY WHEN UNLOCKED. LOCK AGAIN SAME FAULT. CAN ANYONE DIRECT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
ALSO SERVICE SPANNER ON DISPLAY, HOW TO REMOVE IT WHEN DOING A HOME SERVICE

Are the door contacts all ok and clean?
It's the big bunch of contacts on the door jam.

Re the service spanner. I'm sure it tells you in the manula how to reset it.
Mine came on 3000 miles too early and I found the section in the handbook that described how you could reset the milage till next service.

CONTACTS OK ON DOOR, STILL THE SAME FAULT. ITS GOING TO FIAT ON THE 23TH JUNE FOR A SURVEY £50 PER HOUR OUCH !!!!!!! IVE SPENT HOURS ON IT WITH NO RESULT.IM KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED.

contacts are on the keeper i had same problem a spray with electric cleaner fixed mine

its a small micro switch on the keeper not on the door the row of small discs on door are for speakers and interior lights

Sliding door not unlocking? Think you need a spring (or elastic band!) fitted to the mechanism,dont quote me on that as I have done this in the past but cant remember the symptons Assuming its not the contacts of course,hard to tell without seeing the car.
