Drivers Seat Foam

A number of threads have mentioned the foam on the driver seat disintegrating and I think its now happening to my Ulysse. Although I cannot see foam particles breaking off the chair, there is a definate number of stress lines visiable on the seat material itself. The car was reg Nov 04 and has done 9000 miles, the passenger side seat looks Okay.
What responce did anyone get from their Fiat Dealers, this according to the eurovan site seems to be a well know fault on the continent but would be interested to hear if any one has had it replaced/repaired under warranty

Re: Drivers Seat Foam

Had my drivers side changed under warranty and they have also agreed to do the passenger side as well when it gets worse. I had the same as you, stress lines on the side of the fabric and then bits of foam underneath the seat.

Re: Drivers Seat Foam

Is it the seat base your talking about? If so yeah no problem under warranty, done loads of them one hours job no need to take seat out....but (theres always a but isn't there!) there are different types depending on level of equipment on your car so make sure they check your car first & see the wiring underneath & don't just go by the SIGI.

Re: Drivers Seat Foam

Thanks for the replies, good to know others have had no problem.

Can I ask you T14086 (or anyone else who might know) about the back door runners, again a number of threads have reported what I have, that is peeling paint on the runners and getting worse. Have you seen this issue and has it been resolved.

Re: Drivers Seat Foam

Our 18 month old 20K miles Ulysse has now lost all the black paint on the rear door runners.
I must say I didn't expect it to last long the constant running back and forward of the doors eats the paint up, even worse when you get dirt or sand in it.
Ive cleaned the worst of the paint off and it now just runs on the metal underneath. Doesn't seem to be a problem at all.
