Hiya Guys
New [to me] Car, new forum to lurk, picked up my 2000 model this weekend off the father-in-law. One or two silly things need sorting, firstly the power mirrors dont fold manualy. He [f-i-l] clonked the driver's side one off a few weeks back and it cost him mega money for a replacement so i dont fancy having the same outlay so wanna fix it asap. The mirror adjustment works fine but there is no response from the close switch.
Pulled the card off the door and checked connectors, they seem fine and looked thru the fusebox behind glovebox, no deaduns.
Should i be looking for something else? all the search results on here refer to the mk3's it seems and the auto close function they have. I tried it on mine but it didnt realy match the description and had no effect anyway.
Second problem is a fussy engine light. Most time you start the car it goes out but occasionaly it doesnt. Turning the car off and waiting a few seconds before starting seems to clear it. This only manifested directly after it had a full service last week, and there seems to be no ill effects. Is it possible one of the mirriad of sensors is flakey after being knocked during the service? or is there a more sinister cause.
Cheers Gents
