Has anyone fitted the factory multichanger to the original fiat radio cassette on an old shape Ulysse?

As far as I can tell the Pug and Citroen came pre wired, but the Uly looks as though it needs the extra wiring loom running the length of the car.

Anyone done this, or changed the head unit for a different one that still works with the steering wheel controls?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Hi,

I haven't done it in an old Ulysse, but I bought an Alpine head unit for our Land Rover and also bought the black box to so that the steering controls worked. It was really easy to fit, just plugs in between the old and new loom.

First job I did!

I have the EL and was somewhat puzzled that a car that came with electric seats and 6 x electric windows didn't have a CD player....

Initially I located the CD in the cubby hole just behind the offside rear seat. Cable was laid alongside the rear washer pipe that runs under the floor. Easy enough job.

But an accident when the rear washer pipe became dislodged and fired water all over the CD Player meant I then reloaced it to under the drivers seat.

I changed the head unit at the same time of initial fitting also buying the black box to enable the steering wheel controls to work.

All the kit is Alpine.

I know the factory multichanger goes in the rear offside compartment - did you run the cable under the floor yourself, or was it already there?

I've not looked at it closely, but I had assumed that getting the cable under the floor would be a pig of a job!
