Re: Soggy carpets

Every car I've owned over the last couple of years has had this problem, it's been blocked scuttle drain holes every time for me.

Re: Soggy carpets

The scuttle panel is the part directly between the lower edge of your windscreen and the bonnet. I've not taken mine off yet (1998 scudo) but normally it's an easy job.

Once the panel is off there's normally a drainage duct this is the bit that gets blocked.

Re: Soggy carpets

For all other Ullysee owners with soggy carpets I think I've solved the problem. In desperation I took off the pollen filter covers, removed all three filters and then stuck a hosepipe in each hole. Not very technical but soon showed up a problem. Water soon gushed from my drainage hole (!) underneath the car roughly between both front seats so all OK there. I then noticed water coming from my front offside tyre and soon discovered a rubber hose behind the wheel sticking out and down. Hose had end tapered I assume to stop debris going up it. Checking nearside wheel housing I found same hose but totally dry. After some squeezing and with hose still on full, a gush of water pushed out whatever was blocking the tube and ran freely after that.It might be a good thing to check this annually especially if you have many trees near you like me.
Phew...lets hope thats the end of that.
