| Re: ulysse lpg Hi, My experience with lpg on my Ulysse is the following: I live in Holland, I've just converted/added an lpg system to my Ulysse. It's a BRC system. Here in Holland you have to go to a licensed installer, which does not give too much choice where you can go, but enough to ask for a few prices quotes. Difference in prices here are minimal, though. It costs around €2000,- here, dunnow what they ask in the UK, sorry. Technically you have the new sequential systems which are injected into the engine and electronically monitored for optimal mixture. These are a major improvement over the 'older' systems. Basically you have direct injected systems which apparently are bored into the cilinder head or thereabouts for direct gas injection, these start and run on lpg with mimimum use of petrol starting. I have a 1999 2.0 16v EL which is juuuuust one model too early for the direct injection system, but the injectors are bored into the collector. Mine starts on petrol and after the system is warm enough it switches over. Works great I must say, takes 1 minute to swotch over, runs wonderfully, in low rpms and a cruising driving style you don't even notice you've got lpg. I don't know how you calculate mileage in the UK, but here we express it in kilometers per litre, it uses 1 litre per 7 kms in the city or at high speeds (120km/hr+), and even as low as 1 litre per 8.5 kms on the highway at moderate speeds, which is amazing as my petrol usage is 9kms on average. Only two points are that I had to install a lpg tank in the place of my spare wheel under the car which isn't too big (52litre brutto/42 litres net filling), which means a spare tyre in the car and refilling every 300kms. Ofcourse the fuel costs are now nearly half in spite of higher car tax .Your car can handle a direct injected system which shouls be even better, in Holland your newer type Ulysse requires extra springs in the back to keep the lpg tank clearance under the car at a safe height. Hope this helps give you an idea. Greetz
