| As posted previousy: I have an issue with the engine stalling and idling too low - and unevenly. It is entirely a case of tracking down the problem by a process of elimination. I will check and clean the idle control valve, throttle body, distributor, leads, connections, plugs, fuel filter etc. Well, it has been serviced - which threw up no clues - and we've cleaned the Idle control valve and throttle body. Any obvious connections have been checked - although we will have a look at the fuse box again for signs of corrosion... So, what next? Plugs, leads and dizzy... but am I missing something? Any advice welcome! Need it more reliable than this - otherwise it's going!

| Re: Help - any further advice? I'd check the throttle postion sensor and the crank position sensor is always a prime candidate for stalling and cutting out, as the heat protection wears out over time. Also check all rubber induction hoses no matter how small for cracks. My old Lotus Elise had a crack in the ECU emissions pipe and ran like a dog. Good Luck

| Re: Help - any further advice? Update. Plugged it into a diagnosis computer today. The guy - who really seems to know his stuff - said the idle control actuator had been cleaned fine. all seemed well, it just hadn't been 'reset' electronically and he proceeded to do it. Seems fine now - touch wood - a 500 mile round trip this weekend will confirm that (or not).
