| Thunderstorms! I had a very strange experience yesterday. I was driving from Harpenden to Rugby around 5pm. The satnav found me at the start in Harpenden but by the time I was on the M1, I was in Melton Mowbray. 10 minutes later I was in Nottingham, and 15 minutes later I was in Stoke on Trent. By the time I got home, I was in Rugby! The issue appears to be that most of the way home, there were thunderstorms. I only had 3 satellites visible and I suspect that with electrical interference from the thunderstorms, I was misplaced. So, beware - stanav and thunderstorms don't mix. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Rich

| Re: Thunderstorms! Rich, I have not had that problem though I have had lockups in a particular area and a wrong distances reported on the way to Italy, though this could have been the satnav CD itself. One thing that may be a factor is that the minimum number of satellites required to track your position is 3 so maybe when you get down to that amount problems could occur. Lou

| It was broken, honest | Re: Thunderstorms! Hi, We use GPS on the boat and it never seems to be that inaccurate even in bad weather, however I was at some TV studios in London during the storm and we lost all the satellite feeds for a while during the storm. My mobile phone kept loosing signal altogether as well. Andy
