Fiat Ulysse 2.0 EL

New to this! Was just about to buy above car and now been informed isnt accelerating smoothly in 1st and 2nd gear and on inspection by a mechanic, have been advised that the 3rd cylinder is tripping and needs looking into. Car been reduced in price but was wondering if anyone knew how much this problem would be to fix.

Re: Fiat Ulysse 2.0 EL

since its only on 1 cylinder it could be an injector (not uncommon if its a diesel) or due to ignition (if its a petrol model) which could be a dodgy sparkplug or HT lead or coil if its a coil per cylinder arrangement (cant be coil if its a coil per 2 cylinder arrangement), or it could be due to compression so it could be a leaking piston ring or bent/dirty valve. cost to repair it anywhere from £5-2000 depending on what it is. since you havent said which engine and year it is i really cant be any more specific.

it isnt a fiat engine, its a PSA engine.
