can i remove fuel?

Hi i have just sold my ulysse for spares/repairs but it has 3/4 full fuel tank and as you know if you own one thats few quids worth! is there an easy way to drain some of it out to transfer to the new one? tried to old suck method but am not convinced i was in the tank as its a long old pipe from the cap to tank - does it have anti siphon filter? wondered if there was an easier way than ingesting or inhaling petrol!
Any help appreciated Kaz xx

Re: can i remove fuel?

last time I scrapped a car with a significant amount of fuel in it I cut the top of the rubber hose at the fuel tank and siphoned it off from there - £40's worth or so, so worth doing in my case. Just remember not to smoke while you're doing it....

Re: can i remove fuel?

if the car is being scrapped, then why not CARFULLY cut the fuel line, and stick the open end into a suitably sized can, and connect the fuel pump to the battery, run it until it sucks the tank dry....
