Intermittant power loss 2001 JTD(old shape)

Hi,

I have a 2001 ulysse JTD 2.0(16v) diesel that I had to replace the turbo recently.

But now I have a problem where the car is sometimes normal good acceleration and pulls well but it sometimes lacks all power and really struggles to accelerate seems to lose power after gear changes and
It is as if the turbo is not working or fuel starvation ? I have had it on a fault code reader but nothing shows ?

Any ideas or common faults with sensors etc?

I guess there is no connection with the odometer display slowly disapearing which is a pain how do you prove the mileage is correct with no display would look extremely suspect to a potential buyer. (MOT now says no odometer reading displayed!) I would not mind if it was high miles but the car has only done 73000 miles.

Any suggestions would be appreciated I have checked the vacuum hoses

since you have re-place the turbo is the wastegate working?,

When I replaced the turbo I checked the wastegate and it opened and closed ok, seemed alright but now I am worried as the removal of turbo was a complete pig of a job !!

What have I missed any tell tale sign of wastegate failure without removing it all again?
