bleeping noise from RT3

Hello all, i have just brought a fiat ulysse 2004, 2 liter petrol like the car , but i have a problem with a bleeping noise , its seems to come from the RT3 unit. The rt3 display is non colour display, and has the sat nav , anybody any ideas before i rip it out .

This happened on our old Ulysse, it was a problem with the communication between the RT3 and the main body computer.

There are 2 possible solutions, the first is that a new software install will fix it (did for us) or you may need to get the VIN number matched to the RT3 which is a dealer set up.

The firmware update fixed it for us, you can get up to V5.5 with your system and is real easy to do...

I think you press and hold the menu button on the radio for about 3 seconds and this brings up a menu which will show the software version number. With the download you should have a readme text file with instructions. The most important being to make sure you leave the engine running when you are doing the update. Also remove the phone sim card if one is inserted to prevent phone calls coming in. Failure to do this can trash the rt3 unit.
